This little guy came into the studio to celebrate his first birthday and was definitely on the quiet, serious side. He wasn’t quite sure what to think of me or all the birthday excitement, but he looked SO cute in his little birthday outfits.

And then came the cake.

Turns out, cake was absolutely not his thing. 😂 There wasn’t much smashing happening, but that’s okay! First birthday sessions are about so much more than getting messy with cake. Sometimes their reaction, including wanting absolutely nothing to do with it is the memory worth capturing.

We also included family photos in his session, giving Mom, Dad and big sis a chance to jump in and document this stage together. First birthdays are a pretty big milestone for the whole family, after all.

He may not have been impressed with his birthday cake, but he sure was adorable while refusing it. Happy first birthday, little man!
